Every organisation has its areas of strengths and challenges. With for-purpose organisations, our strength lies in our values alignment, the passion and conviction of our staff, and the social impact we create through the delivery of crucial services. However, we also face the challenge of a lack of funding to build the infrastructure necessary to optimise and scale our operations.

This is where cross-sector collaboration and skilled volunteering can prove crucial. Volunteering Australia (the national peak body for volunteering) needed skilled volunteers to help them refresh the National Volunteer Week (NVW) brand for their 2018 event. DMG (now Geronimo, a high-end digital design firm) was looking for ways to give back to the community whilst helping their design staff learn and develop their technical skills.
Communiteer facilitated the collaboration between both organisations and several passionate and highly skilled volunteers. Together, we were able to deliver more than 200 hours of skilled volunteering time (worth more than $30,000) towards the National Volunteering Week 2018, and contributed to the recognition of more than 6 million Australians who volunteer every year.
